What if your character is so niche that you can’t find a costume readily available to buy? Or are you just tired of buying the cheap rubbish that makes you look like the poor version of your majestic character and actually want to look top notch and tailored in your costume instead? Do you want to challenge yourself to making your own costume?

Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions then this class is for you! In this small intimate sewing class you will get the assistance you need to develop special design patterns using existing patterns, making and testing toiles and conducting fittings necessary to achieving the tailored fit and design outcome you desire.

Receive advice on purchasing materials, preparing the materials, cutting and step-by-step instruction on sewing your costume in the most professional way for a clean and tailored look.

Please note that for the best outcome you must have some sewing ability as the finished results do heavily depend on how neat you sew. So be patient with yourself and give enough sessions to achieve the highest outcome you can give yourself. Pacing yourself will allow for you to comprehend the instructions and commit to memory so you can apply the knowledge to future projects!

This class runs for 2.5 hours on a weekly basis over 8 weeks.

Students must bring all their own fabric and materials including the foundation patterns necessary for the development of new custom patterns.

Additional sewing kits, supplies, tools and fabrics are available for purchase on site.

Materials for final garment are at the individuals cost.

Due to limited spaces, all sewing lessons are final and cancellations will result in forfeit of payment. Bookings are strictly NON transferable to other class dates. Please check dates before making your sewing class bookings as there can be NO exceptions.

  • Some experience with the sewing machine is required.
